MLBA SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

General Overview:        The Executive Director shall act as the Director of the Association and have such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the MLBA Executive Board.

 

Qualifications:                  Bachelors Degree required.  Experience working with associations and/or member-based organizations preferred.  Understanding of various information technologies, marketing, budgetary and fundraising skills, strategic thinking, effective presentation skills and management of multiple projects for successful completion required.  Must work effectively and efficiently with multiple constituents including members, regulatory agencies, legislators and industry representatives.  Strong written and verbal skills required.   Some travel involved on state and national level.

Individual will oversee all government affairs activities including multi-client lobbyist, in-house Government Affairs Director and legal counsel.  Familiarity with Federal and State PACs preferred. 

                                      Individual will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MLBA Non-profit Education Foundation known as the National Hospitality Institute (NHI).  Currently the non-profit foundation operates sever-training programs in over 18 states nationwide and is operating an on-line training program.  Strong attention to details, copyright protection laws, trends, on-line development and expansion goals are critical to the success of the program.  Additional programs are offered as indicated on the MLBA website. 

Individual will oversee day-to-day operations of the MLBA Publishing Company which includes the production of the monthly association magazine, the Beverage Journal, the MLBA website, press releases, workbooks for the non-profit foundation and many MLBA/NHI marketing materials. 

                                      Individual will oversee Human Resource activities and be responsible for hiring and managing MLBA and NHI staff.

                                       Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the MLBA Executive Board.
